Linguistic Relativity is the correlation between thought and language. Those with higher IQ's tend to also have larger vocabularies. What words you use also reflects what you think about. The Eskimos have over a hundred words for snow as well as a word for the state of waiting for someone to arrive at your house. The most grand civilizations have up to this point been polylingual. The Romans had fourteen words for the verb 'kill' and so they must have thought about killing a lot. Think now of slang. Fag, swag, bro. They all reflect the thoughts of the new generation.
The importance of this lies in thought improvement. By improving your language you improve your thinking. And if you can think more clearly then life goes smoother and you can manage more difficult tasks.
